Space is Dynamic and ever changing, the way that people are dynamic and versatile from one another.

Parc de la Villette (Tscumi, 1983, Paris) seeks to be a space without any concrete statement for the way one should use it. Thus by minimizing the signature of the planner. Superimposition of a number of layers, each follows different set of rules, creates a space that is border-less and their rules are undefined, leaving much room for interpretation of the user.
John Hejduke, in his theoretical work “Victims” (1984), adds another layer to the urban dynamic – movement and time. He describes an environment in which the elements are planned ahead by the planner, but their location, the way they are being used and the order of their construction are all determined by the users.
This work suggests a tool for mapping and defining a space with the “Use Dimension” taken into account as well as the physical and material qualities. It is presented using three traits: capacity, time and form. these are only a suggestion, as this intensity map is just of a number of maps than describe this exact space in different times. The work challenges concepts like density, public and private, and offers a new interpretation using the concepts of time, dynamic and intensity.
Using this tool for measuring intensity of use, this work is giving new interpretation to the way people use their environment and the place architecture holds, in an age where the reality is not the sum of what’s in front of us.
